Uniform & Kit List

Scouting is a uniformed movement and it is a requirement that all members acquire uniform before they can be invested.

Beaver uniform

Scarlet neckerchief (scarf) & maroon woggle

Black/grey school trousers or shorts

Black/navy blue socks, Black school shoes

Green Cub sweatshirt

Scarlet neckerchief (scarf) & red/yellow/green/blue woggle

Black/grey school trousers or shorts

Black/navy blue socks, Black school shoes

Air Scout shirt

Scarlet neckerchief (scarf) & leather woggle

Beret

Black/grey school trousers or shorts

Black/navy blue socks, Black school shoes

The Group provides neckerchiefs and woggles when members join. Should they require replacement after this, a charge of £3 per necker and £1 per woggle applies.

Uniform can be ordered online from Scout Shops Ltd. We may also have some previously owned uniform which we can supply at a cheaper price, please speak with a Leader.

Camp kit list

Camping and other residential events are the most exciting events in Scouting. For maximum enjoyment, it is vital that all participants bring the correct equipment with them. The following is a generic kit list; for some events more specific requirements may be necessary:

Rucksack lined with a black bin liner

Sleeping Bag (at least 2 season) in a good sized stuff bag

Bed Roll

Pillow
Camp Blanket
Plate, bowl, cup (unbreakable) knife fork spoon
Waterproof coat and leggings Plus a coat if needed
Group hat and t shirt
Jumper, T shirt, trousers, shorts, wash kit, comb toothbrush and paste
Underwear & socks (1 pair a day)

Small towell and flannel

Wellingtons and trainers
Suntan oil
Torch and spare battaries
NOBODY CAN COME TO CAMP WITHOUT THEIR TEDDY BEAR

Some additional points...

  • Other than uniform items clothes worn at camp should be of a type that you wouldn't mind if it got ruined or got so dirty it could be thrown away.
  • Any medication to be handed to a leader with a covering letter.
  • No computer games, knives, lighters or matches.
  • Everything MUST BE NAMED.
  • Everything must be packed inside the rucksack anything strapped to the outside must be in something waterproof. Nothing should be loose or in seperate bags.
