Beaver Scouts are for 6 & 7 year olds and are the youngest section in the Scouting family.
What do Beavers do?
Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits, and helping others. With some of the activities Beavers can work on gaining badges that they can then wear on their uniform.
Our Colony enjoys taking part in sleepovers, which can often be the first time the Beavers spend a night away from home. They take place in suitable buildings and Beavers get to have lots of fun and make new friends while they are there.
When do Beavers meet?
The Colony meets once a week on Wednesdays during term time and also sometimes gets together at the weekends for extra activities.
What is the Beaver uniform?
- Turquoise Beaver sweatshirt
- Scarlet neckerchief (scarf) & maroon woggle
- Black/grey school trousers or shorts
- Black/navy blue socks, Black school shoes
Joining Beavers
Everyone gets a chance to try out Beavers for three or four weeks to make sure it is for them before they join properly by buying a uniform, being invested and making their Promise.
If your child would like to start Beavers, please use our online contact form to send us a message with your details. If your child is not yet old enough to start (i.e. they are 4 or 5 years old at the moment), we can also keep hold of your details on our Register of Interest and we will contact you around their 6th birthday to confirm their place.
