Cubs are for 8 to 10 year olds and they make up the second section of the Scout Group. The Cub Pack is split into smaller groups called Sixes, each one led by a Sixer and Seconder but to become one of those you have to earn the chance by trying your best to be a good Cub Scout.
The are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like hiking, air rifle shooting, bushcraft skills, swimming, exploring, archery and camping. If you do them you will get badges you can wear on your uniform. Even if you don't know any of the others when you start, you'll soon have lots of new friends.
One of the best bits about Cub Scouts are all the trips and days out you will get to go on, in the past few years we have been on visits such as to the local fire station, Revolution Skate park, ten pin bowling, Dickens World and Chatham Dockyard. You will also get to take part in camping trips and pack holidays taking part in loads of adventurous activities and sleeping in tents, log cabins or even Navy warships (as a group we have slept on both HMS Belfast in London and HMS Cavalier in Chatham).
Cubs meet on a Tuesday evenings during term time between 6.45pm and 8.15pm.
