Beavers have been active at District events such as Fact n Fib, handicraft, new year party and cross country where they gained 1st over all. They also helped at the groups street collection and made things for the Christmas Fayre and have recently attended the local pantomime in which one of our beavers and one of our young leaders took part.  The next events coming up are the county sleepover and a dy at the Hop Farm.

On the leader front the current Beaver Leader will be standing down in on 11th February to take up the roll of Explorer Leader. The beaver section will now be led by Daniel Le'Corney (Redwood) he will be assisted by Cedar who will be retiring at Easter and a parent helper Spruce. Redwood has recently completed first aid training and is well on the way to competing his leadership training.

Cub report:-       At present there are 21 cubs with 3 joining after half term. The leadership team is strong at the moment and there is a parent rota in place. Two of the parents have offered to take their minibus test and two leaders are renewing theirs. The cubs started the winter term with their science and Chefs badge then at the beginning of 2009 did their Emergency Aid and started their Air and World Faith Badges.  Wish lanterns were releases at Minnis Bay and they plan to make and fly kites they will also be looking at the Muslim Faith. 8 cubs are attending CubJam and the others will be offered a camp at Kingsdown at the end of July. Akela has decided to stand down in September.

Scout report:- Although September started with only 9 scouts as two had to leave as they were 14 there are now 15 members with 2 enquiries from Minster Cubs that are due to move on to scouts.  The scouts have been working on thier guide and chefs badge whilst continuing with their aviation skills.  Scouts took part in the fishing competition, held a hobbies evening, camped at Downe with 1st Garlinge, and spent a morning microlighting at Paddock Wood.  Every Scout has been in the air this year. Due to leaders ill health there was no scouts missed two weeks in January  The scouts plan to do the expidition challenge, KIJ in July as well as an expidition weekend and another Air Camp.

Fundraising:- It was decided no major fund raising event was needed as Cubs and Scouts are doing their own fundraising for Jamborees. However it was thought that we need to be kept in the public eye so a Spring Fayre and Kite event was discussed.

Maintenance:- Bob reported that it would appear the stores roof no longer leaks. He has looked at the front door which seems to have become dislodged and thinks that the problem can be solved. He also intents to level the floor outside the offices.  This completed his list of jobs and will be arranging a site inspection when the weather improves to see what needs doing next.

AOB:-    Weed killer needs to be put down the sides of hut. It is believed that Badger has a plan for the front garden but as he was not available to comment this must be followed up.  Keys are needed for the new office. The hot water system must now be reviewed now we are in a position to be able to afford it. It was agreed the AGM should be on the same day as the Scout Race Night Friday 8th May
