WE NEED HOME MADE CAKES AND CHRISTMASSY THINGS FOR OUR CHRISTMAS FAYRE SATURDAY 29th NOVEMBER 10AM - 2PMITS NOT JUST FOR THE KIDS. In September Akela, Mowgli, Beech, Charlie and Baloo went to Gilwell Reunion in Essex. Dispite pouring rain they set up their tents on the Friday evening along with scouters from all over the country and even the world. On Saturday after a harty breakfast there were opportunities to have a go at crafts, program ideas, chat with old friends and new, and catch up with whats new in scouting. In the evening there was camp fire followed by a live band and a couple of glasses of shandy. As you can see from the photo this gave Baloo the opportunity to meet our Chief Scout Peter Duncan. Due to the weather we didn't stay for on Sunday for the AGM and Scouts own but had a thoroughly good weekend and came back buzzing with ideas for the coming year.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SECRETARYWe need a secretary to take minutes at our executive meetings (around 4 a year) and to complete the annual census that is due in January. Please let a leader know if you are interested. BEAVERS AND CUBS ARE LOOKING FOR HELPDue to the Beaver Leader taking on the roll of Explorer Leader we are now looking for more help in the Beaver Section. In the first instance we are looking for parents to agree to go on a rota to help at the weekly Beaver meetings. If everyone took part this would work out at about twice a year. In the long term we are looking for someone to take on the roll of Assistant Beaver Leader. Please give Beech your name if you are willing to help. Also Akela has said she wishes to stand down as Akela in September 2009 this means that a new Akela needs to be found. If someone is interested let her know.
